Getting Started with Private Charter
How do I book a private jet charter?
Booking a private jet with BDP Airways is simple: call (281) 888-1968 or email support@bdpairways.com with your departure city, destination, travel date, and number of passengers. Our advisors will send you a fully itemized all-inclusive quote within 1 hour during business hours.
How far in advance do I need to book a private jet?
BDP Airways accommodates bookings from months in advance down to 4-hour notice for domestic US flights. Same-day charters are available subject to aircraft availability. International flights require more lead time for permits and customs arrangements — typically 24–48 hours minimum.
What information do I need to provide when booking?
To book a charter, we need: departure airport/city, destination airport/city, travel date and preferred departure time, number of passengers, any special requirements (catering, ground transport, pets), and contact information. For international flights, passport details for all passengers are required.
Aircraft and Fleet Questions
What aircraft does BDP Airways operate?
BDP Airways operates six jets: Hawker 800XP (midsize, 8 pax), Hawker 850XP (midsize, 8 pax), Hawker 900XP (midsize, 9 pax), Gulfstream III (large, 19 pax), Gulfstream IV-SP (large, 19 pax), and Gulfstream G550 (ultra long-range, 19 pax). We can also source additional aircraft through our brokerage network for special requirements.
Which aircraft is right for my trip?
Aircraft selection depends on route distance, group size, and budget. Midsize jets (Hawker 800XP–900XP) are ideal for groups of up to 9 on domestic routes. Heavy jets (Gulfstream III and IV-SP) are best for large groups or international trips. The G550 is reserved for ultra-long-range intercontinental missions. Our advisors will recommend the optimal aircraft for your specific trip.
Safety & Certification
Is BDP Airways FAA certified?
Yes. BDP Airways holds an FAA Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate, which is required for all commercial charter operations in the United States. Our aircraft are maintained to the highest FAA standards, and all flight crews exceed minimum FAA training and qualification requirements.
What is ARGUS and IS-BAO certification?
ARGUS (Aviation Research Group/US) is an independent third-party safety audit organization. An ARGUS Platinum rating is the highest designation available and indicates that an operator has passed rigorous on-site inspections of aircraft, crew, training, and maintenance records. IS-BAO (International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations) is a globally recognized safety management system standard.
Day-of-Flight Questions
Do I need to go through security at a private terminal?
Private jet passengers use FBO (Fixed Base Operator) terminals, not commercial airline terminals. You will not pass through TSA security screening lines. However, the aircraft and passengers may be subject to CBP (Customs and Border Protection) screening for international flights. Arrive at your FBO 15–30 minutes before departure.
Can I bring pets on a private charter?
Yes. Pets are welcome in the cabin on BDP Airways charters with no weight restrictions. Your pets travel with you, not in cargo. Please notify us when booking so we can arrange any necessary accommodations.
What identification do I need for a private charter?
For domestic US flights, a government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or passport) is required. For international flights, a valid passport is required for all passengers. Some international destinations require visas — our team will advise you on requirements for your specific route.
What happens if there is bad weather?
Our pilots are qualified to fly in most weather conditions using instrument flight rules (IFR). In cases of severe weather that makes flight unsafe, BDP Airways will work with you to adjust departure time, change airports, or reschedule as needed. Safety always takes priority over schedules.
